The Donth Technology Group

Joseph L. Donth The Donth Technology Group was established in 1994 to provide electronic delivery solutions for the newspaper industry. Mr. Joseph L. Donth, founder, is a former vice-president and CIO of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and while with the newspaper was the president and creator of the technology that launched StarText, an on-line version of the newspaper, for computer users in 1982.

Predating the World Wide Web and even the first IBM PC, StarText profitably delivered the Star-Telegram's news content and classified advertising and provided email, Grolier's encyclopedia, American Airlines Sabre flight schedules and home banking to a group of over four thousand dedicated computer users.

In 1996, with then over 25 years experience in the design of computer hardware, software and systems, Mr. Donth turned his attention to the Internet and the issues of security and privacy associated with the delivery of electronic information over a public communication medium.
